BMW announces 600 km of autonomy for the i4

BMW talks today about the arrival of future electric models and more particularly the i4. The sedan, which will be based on the next Series 4, already promises 600 km of range. BMW is careful, however, to say whether this is a registration data, and on what cycle.

It's the electric revolution at BMW that announces no less than 25 such models in its portfolio by 2023. BMW even announces being the manufacturer of the segment with the most electric and hybrid vehicles. Really? In fact, BMW has all versions and variants of cars to achieve this result: the 330th is not counted as one model, but two (sedan and station wagon), while the 745th is counted triple (short version, version long and long version xDrive).

In these 25 models, we will find the iX3 (whose production will begin in 2020), the SUV iNext and then this i4, detailed a little more by BMW which announces 600 km of autonomy thanks to a battery pack of 80 kWh weighing 550 kg.

The 600 km on a base of 80 kWh reserve obviously seem very ambitious: a Tesla Model 3 , which is already rather efficient, exceeds just 400 km with a battery of about 75 kWh. The engines of the i4 will develop a total of 530 hp, which will allow the sedan to pass the 100 km / h in less than four seconds.

The 600 km is probably a theoretical data, which will appear after the homologation cycle, as is the case for the all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV.
