Mercedes unveils the very luxurious version of the already very luxurious GLS with the appearance of the Maybach crest, which is now a full-fledged line at Mercedes rather than a manufacturer. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 adopts an unprecedented version of the V8 4.0 Biturbo.
The GLS is obviously not yet luxurious enough for some customers. Mercedes is launching its new Maybach version, called Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4Matic. But unlike the latest productions Maybach, S650 in the lead, point V12 under the hood.
The appellations are still misleading for Mercedes, which has developed a special version of the V8 4.0 Biturbo that is found under many covers of the group, with, at the key, 558 and 730 Nm. The engine enters the family "EQ "with minor electrification composed of a 48 V electrical network.
As standard, the GLS Maybach embarks pneumatic suspension piloted Airmatic, but it will still have to go through the options to be entitled to specific chassis E-Active Body Control.
The damping (which automatically lowers when opening the vehicle, for easy access) is associated with a new specific model "Maybach" in the driving selector, in addition to the usual modes. And speaking of access to the vehicle, know that the Maybach GLS is entitled to electrically retractable footrests (and backlit). Another specificity of the Maybach version
Aesthetically, there are ultimately few changes to a high-end GLS, but there are obviously the badges Maybach, the imposing specific grid but also and especially the imposing rims, in 22 or 23 inches, according to the desires client.
Inside, we find the Mercedes universe with the MBUX system, but also a rear seat (two seats, only) electrically controlled (and specific tablet) for each occupant, who can tilt his seat. They can also play with the sun visors ... electric, of course.
